SMART TRAVELER CHECKLIST

Here are a few helpful hints that hopefully will make you a smart, prepared traveler.   Following this checklist can possibly help you have a stress-free vacation.  Take a little time to look over the information.  Then print it out and look over it several times before you leave on your vacation.   There is nothing worse than forgetting something important, however, no matter how well you prepare you must be ready for "little surprises" when you get to your destination.  Also, it is so important to remember that you are visiting a foreign country.  Yes, no matter how many times you have watched 'Under The Tuscan Sun', or how much pizza you have eaten, Italy is a foreign country.  If you are lucky you will fall in love with Italy as much as I have.  I never want to see any "ugly Americans" on my tours.  Please be respectful of the Italian culture and their customs.  Remember, you may be the only American they ever meet, so please be a positive representative.  So lets get ready to take that trip of a lifetime!

I have notified the banks and credit card companies about my trip so that they will not block my purchases or attempts to get cash at an ATM.
Passport, credit cards with contact phone numbers, health insurance information, Driver's license, etc.
This is a good idea in case you do not find an ATM right away or the ATM is out of order.  You will need Euros for your taxi cab ride to the hotel.
I also know my PIN for international ATM access.  Most ATM machines do not have letters, only numbers.
This should include emergency contact, allergies to food and/or medications, blood type, medications.
It is very important that you bring enough of your prescription medications along to last for the entire trip.  Also, it helps to have the written information about the prescription for emergencies.
You should also leave a list of hotels and phone contacts.  Also leave my cell phone number (3617017151) and email address Srozypal@aol.com for an emergency contact.
